Drakensberg Golf and Accommodation

The Drakenberg – or the Berg as it is often referred to – is a must for all golf enthusiasts, offering courses with spectacular views and a variety of accommodation from camp sites, caravan parks, lodges, B&B’s and Guest Houses to Hotels. Although the Drakensberg is an extremely popular holiday destination it remains a place of beauty, tranquility and peace.

All courses are open to the public but it is best to phone in advance to confirm starting times. There are a number of golf courses, each one set in breathtaking scenery. Regardless if your score is not up to scratch, the mountain peaks and fresh air make for an enjoyable experience. The Northern Drakensberg offers one course at Hlalanathi, a 9 hole course. Accommodation is available at Hlalanathi. Further accommodation is listed below but my favourite place is Vergezient Guest House. It has the most incredible view of the Drakensberg from Olivier’s Hoek Pass and the Amphitheatre right down to Champagne Castle in the Central Drakensberg. It is situated very high up, giving one the feeling of truly being on top of the world with endless space around one. It is also within easy travelling distance of Hlalanathi Golf Course.
